Our Founder
Sue Schlom
Sue Schlom is a career coach and job search advisor with a recruiter's insider knowledge of how hiring actually works and a track record of helping people land jobs that fit.
With 20+ years spanning corporate recruiting at PepsiCo, Wrigley, and leading Vermont companies like Seventh Generation, plus career advising roles at UVM (7+ years) and Johns Hopkins, Sue has seen thousands of hiring decisions from both sides of the table.
She founded The Targeted Resume in 2023 to bring that expertise directly to job seekers, from recent grads to Director-level professionals, helping them move past guesswork and into career-building roles aligned with their strengths and values.
Sue is known for her pragmatic, empathetic approach. She meets clients where they are, whether they know exactly what they want next or feel stuck and unsure.
As a Certified Becoming You Practitioner, certified in the methodology pioneered by Suzy Welch at NYU, Sue integrates strengths and values-based assessments into her coaching, helping clients not only get hired but pursue paths that feel aligned, sustainable, and meaningful.
A sought-after speaker, Sue has presented at the Women's Economic Opportunity Conference (WEOC) and serves as the official Career Coach partner to the Vermont Tech Jam.
